Welcome to the extraordinary Denham Town High School! Nestled in the heart of Kingston 14, our school is a beacon of knowledge and opportunity. Since opening our doors in August 1950, we’ve been on an incredible journey of growth and transformation.
From humble beginnings on the grounds of the former Facey’s Brick Yard, we’ve overcome challenges and emerged stronger. Our school has evolved from a Senior School to a Junior Secondary School, and now offers comprehensive Grade 10 and 11 programmes. We’re proud of our students’ achievements in the Jamaica School Certificate (J.S.C) Examination, Technical entrances, and the Grade 9 Achievement Test.
Our dedicated principals have guided us through the years, with Mrs. Yvette Richards-Thompson, a passionate educator who joined us in 2003, currently leading the way as Acting Principal. Our team of sixty academic staff members, along with administrative and ancillary staff, work tirelessly to provide a rich and diverse learning environment.
We’re more than just a school – we’re a community. We provide invaluable educational opportunities to our local residents, many of whom come from very low socio-economic backgrounds. Our school is a hub of activity, buzzing with the energy of the Sciences, Arts, Technical Vocational areas, and general academics.
The core values of Denham Town High are:
Perseverance
Respect
Integrity
Discipline
Excellence
We’re not just teaching – we’re shaping the future leaders of tomorrow!
